Send Brother Pojin Zhu away! Stevens: The Celtics traded offseason to get salary flexibility
Today, Celtic General Manager Stevens accepted an interview with reporters. Stevens said that any deals in the Celtics this offseason were to regain flexibility after multiple high-paying seasons, saying: "Those specific deals, they are independent and complex matters, and you have to do your best to make sure you are in a good position. We had anticipated this. It was not a big surprise. For us, the most important thing is to make sure we are balanced while maximizing returns so that we can continue to build and grow." Earlier, the Celtics traded Holiday and Porzingis for Anthony Simmons, Nian and three second-round picks, while they reduced the team's total salary to the second-large line, saving $238 million in luxury tax.
