Vardy: I am very happy to score my first goal in Serie A, but a little disappointed not to win the game in the end
In the 8th round of Serie A, Cremonese drew 1-1 at home with Atalanta. Among them, Cremonese striker Vardy scored his first Serie A goal. After the game, Vardy accepted an interview with Sky Sports Italia. ■About his first Serie A goal Vardy said: "I am very happy to score my first goal, but we are still a little disappointed when we took the lead in the final stage but failed to win the game. However, this is at least a positive signal." ■ The outside world had previously questioned Vardy's physical condition, but the former Leicester City legend proved with his performance that he still maintains excellent physical condition. Vardy said: "I feel very good. I have been paying attention to recovery and trying to stay as close to 100% as possible before each game. If the coach needs me to play, I will be ready at any time. It depends on the coach's decision." ■ Talking about the difference between English football and Serie A Vardy pointed out: "Serie A pays more attention to tactics and possession of the ball, while the Premier League has a faster pace, greater intensity, and attack Defense transitions are more frequent. In Serie A, you have more time on the ball, so positioning and decision-making are more critical. But football is still football, and it is 11 vs. 11 every week. As long as we go all out, we have a chance to score points from any opponent." ■ As for language learning, Vardi joked that he "only knows some basic vocabulary, such as good morning, thank you, and numbers" and revealed that he will start formal Italian courses next week. Vardi said: "I have to learn, because my children are all learning. I can't let them learn before me, otherwise they will definitely make fun of me!"
