According to Spain's "World Sports News", the Barcelona club received an offer to play a friendly match in Peru, but they decided not to go before Christmas.

The game is expected to bring 7 million to 8 million euros in revenue to the Barcelona club. However, due to logistical arrangements and player rest considerations, the Barcelona board of directors believes that the schedule is too tight and there is not enough time to meet the mandatory rest days required by the Spanish Players Union for players.

Barcelona’s goal is to find a suitable date for the future. During the league intermission in March 2026 or after the end of the season (provided that Barca fails to advance to the Champions League final), they are all potential options to implement Peru’s high-priced invitation and allow the "Red and Blue Army" to make a local appearance.

There is still an alternative plan before Christmas this year - traveling to Morocco for a commercial friendly match. Barcelona internally believes that this offer is as attractive as the invitation from Peru and is irresistible.
