World Sports: Barcelona’s actual stadium revenue last season reached 175 million euros, and this year’s revenue target is 226 million euros
"World Sports News" reported that although the temporary departure from the Nou Camp has caused an estimated economic impact of up to 100 million euros on Barcelona, the arrival of head coach Flick and the team's outstanding performance have greatly alleviated this negative impact. Barcelona's temporary home stadium in Montjuïc's stadium revenue far exceeded expectations, which directly prompted the management to adjust its plan to return to the home court. Data shows that under the leadership of Flick, the team's attractiveness has increased significantly. In the 2024-25 season, Barcelona's actual revenue from stadium projects reached 175 million euros, 21 million euros higher than the budget of 154 million euros. This figure is very close to the 229 million euros in the last season of the 90,000-capacity Camp Nou. The attendance rate is the best proof: In Flick's first season, the average number of spectators per game was 45,962, a year-on-year increase of 14%. In the previous season, there were as many as 12 games with attendance below 40,000, but under Flick, this happened only once. The club generates €2.8 million in revenue from each game played in Montjuïc. The hot momentum this season continues. In the two key games against Real Sociedad and Paris Saint-Germain, the number of spectators reached 50,103 and 50,207 respectively. In view of such excellent attendance, the Barcelona board of directors made an important decision: the team will remain in Montjuïc until the renovated Camp Nou stadium can accommodate 45,000 spectators. The club internally explained that the income gap between the Montjuïc match with 50,000 spectators and the new Camp Nou match with only 27,000 spectators (first phase capacity) is "minimal". Based on the current success, Barcelona executives are extremely optimistic about the financial prospects for this season. They have set a new revenue target of 226 million euros for the stadium project, which is 51 million euros higher than the 175 million euros that succeeded last season.
