Sampdoria officially announces the appointment of a new coach, Italian media: Mourinho’s former assistant is the actual coach

Sampdoria officially announced that the new coach Angelo Gregucci has taken office.

On October 19, local time, Sampdoria Club announced on its official website: "Sampdoria Club announced the appointment of Angelo Gregucci as the first-team coach. Salvatore Forti will serve as assistant coach, and Nicola Pocci will serve as technical coach. The new coach will lead the team for training for the first time on Monday afternoon."

Sampdoria is currently ranked third from the bottom in the Serie B standings, and last weekend announced the dismissal of former coach Donati.

Italy's "Slow Motion" stated that Sampdoria's actual coach is Salvatore Foti. He once coached in the Sampdoria youth training and later served as Mourinho's assistant. He also worked in Roma and Fenerbahce. However, Salvatore Foti currently does not have UEFA's top coaching certificate, so he cannot directly serve as the coach. Sampdoria appointed Angelo Gregucci as the nominal coach, but the team will be coached by assistant coach Salvatore Foti.
