Frankfurt officially announced that Koch became the new captain of the team. Frankfurt issued an announcement confirming that coach Toppmerle appointed Koch as the new captain, and the 29-year-old central defender replaced goalkeeper Trapp's captain position. Koch joined Frankfurt from Leeds United in 2023, and has played 7 goals and 4 assists in 85 games since joining.
