Official: Atletico Madrid and Apollo Sports Capital have reached an agreement, and the latter will become the club’s new majority shareholder

Atletico Madrid officially announced that it has reached an agreement with Apollo Sports Capital, which will become the club's new majority shareholder.

Current Atletico CEOs Hill and Cerezo will continue to lead the club and retain minority shareholder status along with Quantum Pacific Group and Ares Management. Apollo Sports Capital partner Robert Givonne also confirmed that the investment is to support the continuity of Hill’s leadership.

The acquisition is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2026 and will inject new capital into the club. The funds will be used for additional investment in the team and important infrastructure projects, especially the planned "Sports City" next to the Riyadh Air Metropolitan Stadium.

Atletico CEO Hill said that Apollo Sports Capital is a long-term partner that respects the club's tradition and will promote the development of the club's off-field activities.
