Lautaro: I hope the team will do their best to bring the trophy home, we have put in too much effort
At 3 a.m. on June 1, the highly anticipated Champions League final, Inter Milan played against Paris Saint-Germain. Before the game, Inter Milan captain Lautaro was interviewed by Sky Sports.
■ Are you nervous on the eve of the war?
Lautaro: "No, I'm enjoying every moment. Because it's not easy to get to this position and reach this final. As we have repeatedly emphasized this week, it's very important to us to reach the final twice in this event, which proves that we have done well and shows that this team is valuable. However, we have to take the last step tomorrow. Now there's only one day and a few hours left. We have to prepare the final details and have to play perfectly to bring home this trophy that has been missing for 15 years."
■ What have you prepared for tomorrow's speech in the locker room?
"I have nothing to prepare. Everything I say will be the true feelings of the moment. Of course I have to speak, but we deserve to stand on this stage and enjoy every moment. Because it's not easy, and we have done an amazing job and it's time to crown a champion. Tomorrow's win and lose 55, Paris is a very strong team, has won two trophies this season, and is in good shape at the moment. We need to pay attention to the final details, have a good rest, and then focus on tomorrow's game, which is the last and most important game, the game that determines everything. I hope that all my teammates will do their best tomorrow and bring the trophies home because we put in too much effort for it."
■ Received videos from my wife, children and family
"It's hard to speak, they are my family, the people who have been behind me and push me to never give up. I want to thank them for letting me have this moment. I hope to be able to give this trophy to them. Today I can be such a person because of my father, and he made me fall in love with the sport. My mother never let me lack anything, and my children, my wife (choke up), they have always been with me. Whether it's this important moment or when I'm in a downturn, they will give me strength."
