Countdown to 2 days! 8 new regulations and technologies for the Club World Cup are put into use, including the "Artetta Law"

The new version of the Club World Cup will be unveiled the day after tomorrow. At that time, eight major regulations and technological innovations will be used, including referee cameras and the "Law of Arteta".

This event will introduce new regulations agreed by IFAB in February, as follows:

5-second countdown

The referee raised his hand and signaled that the goalkeeper must drive the ball, otherwise the opponent will be awarded a corner kick. In the South American Liberators Copa 2/South America Cup Test, there were only two cases of goalkeepers holding the ball for more than 8 seconds.

Captain's exclusive dialogue rights

Only the captain is allowed to negotiate with the referee, and any player who violates the rules will be shown a yellow card.

"Artetta Law"

The coach or substitute accidentally touches the ball before the ball goes out of bounds, and no additional penalties will be added except for the indirect free kick, and will be activated for the first time.

The penalty kick second touches the new rules

The penalty kicker accidentally "touches the ball" (the ball touches his foot or leg) and then makes a penalty. Heavy punishment will be required, rather than a direct penalty invalid.

Breakthrough Technology Application

cm-level semi-automatic offside system

The biggest change will be the use of the latest, artificial intelligence-assisted semi-automatic offside technology, which will automatically send to the assistant referee when a player breaks through the defense and touches the ball with an offside of more than four inches (about 10 cm).

Referee Perspective Camera

Rugby fans have become accustomed to the "referee camera" and are installed on the referee's chest to provide a private perspective on the ball. But the FIFA Council (IFAB) has approved football to use the same method, installing the camera at the height of the referee's eye and connecting it to the referee's VAR communication device.

Although this screen will not be broadcast live in the game, it will give fans at home and on the court the opportunity to see goals and other events from the referee's perspective.

Live synchronous video playback screen

Although the dialogue between the referee and VAR can only be broadcast after the game, the live fans will be able to see these screens simultaneously while the referee himself checks the sideline monitor for a review.

Electronic substitution system

will no longer have substitution misunderstandings. The coaching team will directly submit the substitution application through a handheld tablet, saying goodbye to the era when handwritten notes are submitted to the fourth official.
