Liverpool striker Jota died in a traffic accident at the age of 28. As a small shareholder of Liverpool, Lakers star James tweeted to mourn Jota: "In this difficult time, my heart is with his family! May you all be guided and blessed! You will never walk alone, Jota! (YNWA JOTA!)" In 2011, James reached a commercial cooperation with Liverpool's parent company Fenway Sports Group, and acquired a 2% stake in Liverpool's Club for US$6.5 million, becoming the first professional athlete to invest in Liverpool.
