Sponsor denied that Messi s Indian trip was ruined, Argentina Football Association has collected & and will default on the contract if it fails to follow the plan

Previously, it was reported that since Kerala, India, was unable to raise enough appearance fees, Messi and the Argentine national team's Indian tour failed. The official sponsor of the Indian tour, Kerala media company Reporter Broadcasting Company, denied the news.

The company's general manager Anto Augustine said: "We have not received any official notice that the trip to Kerala in October has been cancelled. The message we have received recently was that they proposed to change the game to September 2026 instead of October this year, but this proposal has not been officially confirmed."

The sponsor also stated that under the agreement, they had transferred Rs 1.3 billion (about RMB 106.5 million) to the Argentine Football Association on June 6, 2025, and the other party has confirmed the collection on June 12 and is awaiting the next official notice. Now that two months have passed, if you fail to act as planned, it will be considered a breach of contract.

Augustine also added that their plan is to invite the current world champion team to Kerala to play, and it would be meaningless to postpone the game until after the 2026 World Cup.
