Roma defeated Yiding's team Trastevere 14-0 in the first warm-up match this summer. This is the first game led by Rome coach Gasperini after taking office, and he was interviewed after the game. How is Rome's work in the first week of training camp? Dybala has recovered from injury and started in this game. Dybala has returned to normal training and although he has not reached his best yet, he hopes to play today, which is a good sign. The training in the first week was very positive, the players worked very well, showing great enthusiasm and desire, which made us look forward to the new season. You can see that the atmosphere in the team is very good, and we also have many young players from youth training participating in summer training. They are eager to improve and have a strong sense of belonging to Roma.

What did you think of the city after you came to Rome?

I often live in Trigoria training base now, from morning to night, but the city is very special. I used two and a half days off to find a house before, and I planned to live in Rome, although I had to face some traffic congestion like everyone else. It's an unusual city, but now it's a holiday, so the trip is smooth.

The first new aid, Enaoi, has come to Rome this summer, to undergo a physical examination. What do you think of Rome's transfer work this summer so far?

Unfortunately, for various reasons, our preparations were a bit behind, because we started summer training 8 days ago, and compared with the end of last season, the team had a lot of people lost, some left, and some were injured. We need to speed up because we have to get a good start, but it is not easy to do in this situation at this moment. We hope to improve because the club is very supportive of us and we know what kind of players we need to bring in: young, energetic, and powerful. I look forward to the team being able to speed up in the future.

Dybala plays center in this game. Is this your emergency solution? Dovbik and Pellegrini did not compete, how are they?

Yes, this is just a contingency plan. Pellegrini still needs time to recover, and he had a nose surgery before, which took a lot of time. Dovbik is just feeling tired and will recover next Tuesday to train with the team.

What do you think about the current situation of the team?

Week 1 is important and we are working to create an identity for the team, and we can find our place on the court even in this relatively easy first warm-up match. Compared with May this year, Roma has 6 players left the team, and Abdul Hamid only returned to the team today (because he participated in the national team competition). Edin has not participated in training due to an ankle injury, and so is Pellegrini. So the club is definitely doing their best to fill the gaps and building the team to the standards we mentioned. A very positive point is that the club has a lot of support, but it must also take into account the demand of the transfer market.

Are you worried about this?

There is one thing, haha. Because we have been working for 8 days, it is now July 20th, and the new season of Serie A started in a month. But I believe the club will do its best to do what it wants to do, and (sports director) Masala is also working to achieve this goal.
