According to the Republic, Rome will submit all documents to start construction of the new stadium by the end of October.

Roman City Hall has almost confirmed that the technicians of the Friedkin team will prepare all the necessary documents by the end of October, and will formally submit all the materials needed to start the construction of the new stadium to the city government.

Previously, the project had stalled because all relevant parties were unwilling to bear the cost of removing a layer of asphalt concrete on the ground, which hindered geological drilling. Now, things seem to be coming to a resolution.

But Rome is still watching the effect of the implementation of the new policy of the Ministry of Sports. The Italian Ministry of Sports recently appointed a specialist on the construction of the stadium to simplify the administrative process to speed up the approval and promotion of projects required for the preparation of the 2032 European Cup.

Rome has also received support for the transportation of the new stadium. Rome's new subway signal system is expected to be put into operation before the stadium is opened (currently expected to be after 2028). At that time, the departure interval of Line B subway will be shortened to one shift every 2 and a half minutes. In this way, the subway will be able to evacuate large numbers of fans home more efficiently after the game.

The plan to build a new stadium in Rome has been in the works for nearly 20 years, and many different locations have been inspected during this period, but construction has never officially started.
